The flomo record API is a personal address. Send one POST request to it to create a note. In flomo, open “Settings → Extensions & API” to copy the address, then paste it into a tool that supports it. This feature requires flomo PRO.
What it is
The record API does not need a separate password. The address itself is the credential. It looks like this:
https://flomoapp.com/iwh/••••••/••••••/
Anyone who has this address can write notes to your account, so treat it like a password. Don't post it in a group chat or put it in public code or screenshots.
flomo's help center says on its API & URL Scheme page that this feature requires PRO membership.
Where to copy it
- Sign in to the flomo web version.
- Open “Settings”, then “Extensions & API”.
- Copy the record API address on the page.
You can also open the entry point flomo provides: flomoapp.com/mine.
Test it with one command
Before you add the address to a tool, check that it works. Replace the address below with yours and run this in a terminal:
curl -X POST 'https://flomoapp.com/iwh/••••••/••••••/' \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-d '{"content":"Just testing #flomo"}'
The request body has one content field. If it works, the note appears in your flomo, and the tags apply.
Add it to the tool
Using Quick flomo as an example: open the settings page and paste the address into “flomo API URL”. Quick flomo only accepts addresses that start with https://flomoapp.com/, and it shows an error if the address is wrong.
After setup, “Send to flomo” in the side panel turns the title, link, summary, thoughts, tags and citation into one note and sends it. See the full guide to sending to flomo.
If sending fails, check three things
- Is the address complete? A missing slash at the end, or a missing piece, will make it fail.
- Is flomo PRO still active? It belongs to your flomo account, not to the tool.
- Can you reach flomoapp.com? Run the command above once. It shows whether the problem is the address or the tool.

How it differs from the URL scheme
flomo also offers links like flomo://create. They open the app with the content filled in, and you confirm before it saves. According to flomo's documentation, the content limit is 5000 characters and up to 9 images.
The record API writes directly in the background, which suits tools and automation. The URL scheme needs the app installed on this computer, and suits when you want to look again before saving.
